Overseer: Apostle Willie M. Jett Jr. Biography
Apostle Willie M. Jett Jr. was born in a little place called Baker hill, Alabama. He is the son of Estelle and Willie M. Jett Sr.; and has one older sibling. After completing High School at Eufaula, Willie Jett Jr. was drafted into the United States Army in 1971. Coming from a country background, and not being use to the fast lane life style, Willie was introduced to the wild life in Bamberg, Germany his first duty station; after two years of being in the military. Willie received orders for Fort Bragg, N. C. which he stayed there for two years. Willie came on orders again; this time for two years at Fort Benning, GA where he met Dorothy Tatum. The relationship began to blossom; but as being a soldier, Willie came on orders in 1978 for Butzbach Germany where it was a 3 year tour. After arriving in Germany for only two days; he was invited to a United Pentecostal church service. It was an anointed Sunday service when the Word was preached that he surrendered and came to the altar, repented of his sins, and gave his life to the Lord. He was baptized in Jesus Name, and afterwards he received the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues as the spirit of God gave the utterance. This life changing event took place at the Christian Tabernacle Church, Schloss Kaserne's Chapel, under the leadership of Pastor James P. Webbs. The Lord started moving Brother Willie Jett fast in ministry. He was dedicated in the ministry working as the Lord instructed, when Pastor Webb, being led by God started training him as a Deacon. In his transitioning he still had one more flight to take to complete his transformation. Brother Willie Jett flew back to Fort. Benning ,Georgia and married Dorothy Tatum in 1979; and returned back to Germany with his family. In this union the Lord brought together 3 children and grandchildren.
In 1979 also, God ordained Brother Jett as a Deacon. Proving himself in ministry as a Deacon, after two years, the Lord moved Deacon Jett to be a Minister. In 1980, the Jett's received orders for Seaside, California. As coming to California the Jett’s found a church to fellowship with at Sixth Avenue Chapel Service under the ministry of Pastor Jerry Richardson. After leaving that ministry, Minister Jett and family started fellowshipping with Pastor Clariette Williams who overseer was Bishop Robert W. Harrison . In 1982, Minister Jett received orders for Mannheim, Germany. It was under this tour of duty to Germany that the Sullivan Apostolic Ministry at Sullivan Barracks was birthed forth under his leadership in 1983. Even though God was moving in the Jett family in leaps and bounds, Minister Willie Jett didn't get ordained as Elder until 1984 by his Overseer Bishop Robert W. Harrison in Pastoralship . The Jett’s did a mighty work in Germany; so great in the sight of the Lord, that once again by the laying on of hands of his Overseer Bishop Robert W. Harris and other Bishops, installed Pastor Willie Jett, as Bishop Willie Jett. in 1987. But as being a soldier, once again the military had a plan for his final movement.
Retiring from the Army, the Jett family was sent to Ft. Stewart, Georgia. After working with several churches in the area, Bishop Jett was led of the Lord to begin the Last Days Full Gospel Apostolic Ministry, Hinesville, Georgia in September 1993. Bishop Jett and Prophetess Jett continued to do a mighty work in the kingdom ministry. Their faithfulness and drive to see Gods people delivered and set free continued to show forth in leaps and bounds. Bishop Jett served as the first vice president under his Overseer Bishop Robert Harris of the Church of the Living God Faith Tabernacle Inc. in Oakland California for many years; before God moved him and his wife to start their own organization in 2007.
To God be the Glory, he is now the Overseer of ”8" Apostolic Churches in North and South Carolina, in the state of Tennessee, on the West and East Coast as well as, International Churches in Ludswighaven, Germany. The Glory of God is not to be taken likely concerning Bishop and Prophetess Jett; in 2016 our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ moved them both together once again in unity as having hands laid on them by Bishop Cecil Reed and the Elders according to scripture in Apostleship. When working for God, he will move you according to his divine will; for the purpose he has for your life.
Apostle Jett has found that preaching the gospel (the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.) and standing for holiness can sometimes be a lonely place. He believes by the conviction of the Lord "Why preach if you aren't going to tell people they have to repent? Why preach if you aren't going to tell people they have to live holy?"
